Zone Of The Enders
All Action & Adventure PlayStation2 4.0 (40 votes)
Apart from the likes of the "Mechwarrior" series, mainly aimed at hard-core gamers, robot fighting sims have not really caught on in the West. Due to an extremely canny piece of marketing on Konami's part "Z.O.E." comes packaged with a demo of the sequel to "Metal Gear Solid", a serious candidate for best game ever and the game that introduces the delights of Gundam, Patlabor and others to a more general European audience.
Forget the derivative sci-fi back story: "Z.O.E." is all about arcade action. Pilot your oversized Mech through dozens of encounters with other automated units all out for your blood. An element of strategy is added by the arenas you fight in, a cross between Judge Dredd's Mega City 1 and Akira 's Neo Tokyo--too much collateral damage to the local citizenry or architecture and it's game over. The graphics are astonishing: laser blasts and explosions fill the screen and no matter how many enemies you face the frame rate zips along. Like a lot of Japanese conversions, the longevity of the game is questionable, but while it lasts you will experience an adrenaline-packed arcade romp
But, in all honesty, a lot (a majority?) of UK gamers will be buying "Z.O.E" for the one-level demo of "MGS2: Sons of Liberty". This is probably the most anticipated console game ever and will be a defining moment for the PS2--if the whole game lives up to the demo's promise then the wait will have been worth it. But if you have got "Z.O.E." for the demo, make sure that you play the main game as well otherwise you will be missing out on an exhilarating if short-lived gaming experience. "--Michael Bartley"

Mycket bättre än vad jag förväntat mig. Framförallt den bra storyn driver denna annars rätt så enformiga robotaction framåt. Slutar precis innan det blir tjatigt. Rekomenderas, men inte det bästa spelvärlden har att erbjuda.

a perfect sequal to a perfect game, there are very few fanatics of this game but for those of us who are swept away by the breathtaking battle frame robotic action can all agree there's nothing quite like it,
after zoe was finished konami were unsure to release a sequal, but thank god they did, this game brings the justice it so much deserves, forget solid snake, the action in this game is fast and furious and fantastic and to add to it all i still get shivers down my spine seeing the blue rays that glide down jehuty's body continuesly throughout the game,
the zoe fans out there have been bugging for zoe3 to be released but as before konami are still unsure but at this years e3 they said they may consider a follow up and the PS3, i cant imagine how this game will look on next gen consoles but by god im sure i'll faint

Zool
Action Genesis
His name is Zool, and he is a gremlin-like creature from another dimension. He is forced to land on the Earth, but his sole goal is to attain the prestigious ranking of a Ninja. To do that, Zool will have to travel through six worlds, each divided into three stages, defeat his enemies, and prove himself worthy of that title.

Zool is a fast-paced side-scrolling platformer. The protagonist can run, jump, climb walls, and shoot enemies. Power-ups for Zool are scattered across the levels. These include life-spending hearts, smart bombs, shields, more powerful jump-skill and a twin Zool. This "twin" makes imitates the original's motions a few seconds after he performs them.

In the options menu the player can change the difficulty and the game speed (two times), the number of continues, and the background music (rock or funk).
